Golden Centenary for Bautista Heguy

Wildmoor, with Bautista Heguy as the most outstanding player, beat Marchioplo, with Bautista's cousin Eduardo, 12-10 and obtained the Gold Cup in Deauville, celebrating its centenary in 2007. The final was held at the Deauville Polo Club and and closed a fantastic season, which featured many argentine players.
Previously, in field 2, Lamorlaye won the Silver Cup, as they beat La Candelaria in the final. Lamorlaye's Martin Iturraspe was named MVP, and La Candelaria's Martin Aguerre, who has a big experience playing polo in France, was the main man of his team.
On his side, Bautista Heguy was the Gold Cup's MVP, as his contribution to the victory was crucial for Wildmoor, a team which also featured British Edouard Hatchmen and Mark Booth as well as Australia's 5-goaler Rob Archivald. Marchiopolo's lineup included argentines Eduardo Menendez and Paulo Bertola, and Italian Giovanni Marchiorello, besides, of course, Eduardo Heguy.
Wildmoor took a wide advantage in the score after half time, as Marchiopolo couldn't turn the score over in the last chukker, as they did in the semifinal against Talandracas. The final result meant the victory to the most concentrated team in the crucial moments, even though their rivals did a great job thorughout the whole torunament. |
