Gstaad Palace makes it two - by Federico Levy

Gstaad Polo Club hosted the season's most important match, the final of the Hublot Polo Gold Cup.Defending champions, Gstaad Palace met Hublot in the tournament's final, in which Gstaad Palace seeked for a new victory and the Menéndez brothers, along with Gualtiero Giori and Tete Storni were in search of stardom.

The Pictet's squad, who received one goal and a half by handicap, had a stronger start, with a goal by Alejandro Agote within one minute of play. After a goal by Hublot, Agote himself expanded Gstaad Palace's advantage to take a 3,5-1 by the end of the first chukker.

In the second chukker, Hublot's Eduardo Menéndez converted a penalty to close the gap, but after a great play by Héctor Guerrero, it was Sasha Pictet who scored to put Gstaad Palace ahead 4,2-2.

After half time, Alejandro Agote converted a penalty to put things 5,5-2 but quickly a joined play by the Menéndez brothers, ended up with a goal by Francisco to cut the margin to one goal and a half.

The last chukker started with a fast run from Sasha Pictet, who scored to extend Gstaad Palace's advantage to 6,6-4. After the throw-in, Hublot made their best efforts to cut the margin, which Eduardo Menéndez did through a 30-yards penalty. Another penalty shot put Hublot closer in the score, which was going to be the final result - 6,6-6

The two last minutes remained scoreless, and finally it was Gstaad Palace who made it two in the Swiss Alps.
